July 2021: Nice is the Best Kind of Different

One of the most common, non-medical questions we get is “Who are Nice Healthcare’s Largest Competitors?” Most people expect us to give them the names of a few other companies in the direct primary care, telehealth or wellness services spaces, but the answer is a bit less straightforward. The fact is, we consider our biggest competition to be traditional primary care clinics, health insurance plans, regulations and the resistance to change.

Our patients and clients know how silly that is because they’ve experienced a better way of getting primary care that can cure a headache without causing three others. But, at the risk of being redundant, we wanted to remind our readers what makes Nice such a unique primary care clinic.

No Bricks and Mortar, No Hassle

The biggest difference between Nice and every clinic you’ve ever been to is that Nice patients never have to leave their homes to see us. Our entire staff works from home and if we don’t meet a patient’s needs with a virtual visit, a clinician will visit their home. This was done deliberately to save patients the hassle of leaving their homes when they’re sick, which anyone with common sense would agree is a bad idea. It also reduces our overhead, so that we can invest more into our amazing services and employees.

Nice is Nurse-Led and Streamlined

Our COO, Genevieve Swenson, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who spent her early days at Nice managing operations while also making her share of house-calls. As we’ve grown, she’s been able to implement processes and systems that make the work of our clinicians substantially easier than those at other clinics. By removing those barriers, our clinicians have more time to spend with patients, and more resources to leverage when diagnosing and determining the best treatment plan possible.

Our average response time is under 4 minutes while patients are lucky to get a response the same day in most settings. Similarly, patients never have to wait a week to see a doctor. Video and chat visits, even in-home visits can almost always happen the same day they’re requested.

Our Services are All-Inclusive

Nice has 35 labs, 550 medications, virtual physical therapy, X-rays and other imaging services, that we can offer patients with no out-of-pocket costs. Most clinics operate on a fee-for-service model, where every lab, every cotton swab, every syringe is added to the invoice at the end of the visit. When patients have to worry about the bill at the end of their visit, they don’t go as regularly as they should, don’t ask all of the questions they have about their health, or don’t follow their treatment plan while trying to make it last longer.

The lack of financial barriers to using Nice also means that patients come back more frequently, resulting in deeper relationships with their primary care clinicians. If you’d like to learn more about our clinical team, watch our brand new video:
